Since 1993, we have designed and built our tilt swivel stands for Point-of-Sale POS equipment including bar code scanners, signature pads, credit card and debit card payment terminals. Initially, in response to our clients’ requests, the stand business began as an aftermarket business. We could not locate the appropriate stands for our clients; so, we decided to build our own.
We listened to our clients and their needs. We began to realize the importance of the tilt mount and the swivel mount to the overall product solution. As we resolved issues and achieved success, the stand models varied and increased. Stand requests increased for products from Hand Held Products, Hypercom, Ingenico, VeriFone and TOPAZ. Our inventory grew from stationary fixed-tilt to swivel fixed-tilt. We added wall mounts. However, in 2005 we “set the standard” with the introduction of the Adjustable Tilt and Swivel Stand (ATS). The ATS addresses several benefits that still excite our clients who continue to respond with wonderful enthusiastic reviews. We absorb this enthusiasm and use it to improve reliability and to lengthen the useful life of our stands.
While experiencing success with our tilt swivel stand business, we were stretching vital resources to support an increasingly outdated business model. We had a good run with some maturing businesses - a key one being the reselling of AIDC products for other manufacturers. We had run the gamut with a business model that had been good to us for a long time, but had become discordant with the future. I made a choice to focus on designing and building our own products. In addition, I wanted to facilitate reaching us. Hence, the choice of Tilt & Swivel Design, indicating simply what we do, and helping one intuitively visualize key functions found in our products. We have a new business, a new name, a new logo, and a new website. Our expectation is that all of these changes will strengthen our brand identity and improve our brand marketing.
Consequently, the anticipation of what we can achieve is inspiring and permeating our business company. Our high-end, adjustable tilt and swivel plastic stand has been and still is a winner, and is a standard-bearer for quality and longevity. In 2010, our new adjustable tilt and swivel metal stand entry, which incorporates our traditional designs and technology, fills a void in the mid-range market share. In addition, we will explore different approaches for developing new tilt swivel stands and support products, not only for existing products, but also, for new products in other vertical markets.
